Bush totally vindicated by history -- in two years
By Greg Sargent

With the Bush "nostalgia" tour in full swing, Rasmussen releases a new poll with a rather amusing headline that seems designed to suggest the former president's reputation is looking up:

A Majority Now Sees Bush As Somewhere in Between Best and Worst Presidents

It turns out 37 percent of likely voters think Bush was one of the worst presidents ever, more than four times the nine percent who think he was one of the best.

But no matter: Fifty-three percent now say he's somewhere in between the best and the worst!

See, not everyone is willing to say Bush was the worst president ever. He's been totally vindicated by history, just as his boosters predicted he would.

1. I imagined that there were only 20% that were so deluded.
The same 20% that can not find the US on a map, they probably can't determine right from left, up from down either.

Okay then stupidity must be contagious - it has gotten almost another 20% of Americans under its grip.

Fixed News the official broadcasting arm of the Repuke party should be congratulated. Well done.

For the rest of us now truly is time to be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

4. Bush's place in history
I am fairly certain that Bush's popularity among the common
American people is rising, but so what? It's fairly easy to
improve your reputation after being the worst American
president in modern day history..

What I really care about is what are future historians going
to say about Bush, academia precisely..

Long after we're all dead, turned to ashes, and forgotten,
Bush will still be remembered as the nitwit president that ran
up the deficits after record surpluses, essentially lied and
fabricated evidence to force us into a war, and did absolutely
jack squat for the middle class.

8. I think it would be something
to see Bush and Palin on a stage together, or on a political ticket. Bush and Palin, the Keystone politicians.

7. There are only 3 positions in this poll...
Best president, worst president, somewhere in between. So, the vast majority of that 53% may rank him in the worst 5, but hey, that's not absolutely the worst so... ta-daaaaah! His rehabilitation is complete!

9. He's certainly the worst president of the modern era...
But I don't think I'd say that he's the worst president in history.

Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan both had disastrous presidencies, particularly Pierce.

I would say that Bush is the worst right after those two, however.
