Private Job Growth Under George Bush's Tax Cut Regime = Negative
10-Year Private Sector Job Growth Finally Goes Negative

Consider this a memorial service. Back in June, I wrote a post called “A Lost Decade for Jobs”, where I pointed out that 10-year private job growth was rapidly heading for zero.

Well, folks, it finally happened this morning. The employment report shows that private sector employment in August 2009 was lower than it was in August 1999—the first time this has happened since the Great Depression. Here’s the chart:

Yes, people have objected that I’m comparing a boom year to a bust year, and so I am. But frankly, comparing bust years to bust years doesn’t make the picture better. Here’s the change in private employment from one recession trough to the next (assuming that August 2009 is a recession trough).

Doesn't surprise me at all! I always knew that real job growth came from government sector jobs, such as the shovel-ready projects that Obama and Biden have been fond of.

3. Bush was a tool. Too bad he was part of the government sector, and we had to actually pay the dude.

Mitch McConnell is a paid government employee, and he absolutely refuses to do any real work for the government. He only works for corporations.

John Boehner (owner of the acid mine drainage self-tanning system)...well he doesn't intend to do anything to help the middle class...and we're the ones paying his salary.

5. Here's a really good example of people on the public dole holding shovels:

4. Now how can that be?
With that kind of factual, empirical evidence from the past 10 years, you'd think someone in the popular media would, you know, notice that. So when the Republicans are popping off about how horrible letting the tax cuts expire on the wealthy would hurt job growth, somebody might know that it's a flat out lie, unsupported by our very own recent national experience.

But then, multi-billion dollar corporate news organizations probably don't have access to this highly sophisticated, nobody-can-understand-it obscure data. So much easier to just parrot RNC blast faxes.

6. Running government like a business has been a mantra for a decade.
Of course, it's not like Bush ever ran a successful business....so his 8 years as CEO pretty much bankrupted this country and was entirely predictable. Too bad 1/2 the voters in this country can't seem to figure this out.

7. Just wait until those Bush Tax Cuts kick in!
The economy will take off like a ROCKET, with plenty of JOBS JOBS JOBS.

Bill Clinton raised taxes, and boy did the economy suck - then Bush cut taxes, and pretty soon it's gonna be JOBS, as far as the eye can see!!!

Just be patient!! Gotta make Donald Trump and Oprah's tax cuts permanent, first. Then, WHAMMO!!! Jobsville !!!
