Remember, Mikey was chosen right after the '08 election when the GOTB was still reeling and trying to come to grips with a new world where a black man could actually be successful. Mikey was the only black they could find that would be the rushpublican Obama. That sentiment didn't last long...Rushbo and the teabaggers would start making noise and the fascination with a "man of color" was over. Of course it didn't help that Steele is a con man supreme and was taking full advantage of his new job to stuff his own pockets. Just like waking up the next morning after picking up an ugly girl at the bar, the GOTB started to figure how to ditch the dude but without making it look "racial". Instead of the embarassment of canning him, they bypassed him, but it still looks like Steele got a nice haul in the process...leaving the RNC nearly 15 million in debt.

Now there's a new "black hope" in the GOTB...Allan West. Steele's no longer needed...if he's lucky he'll get a Milton Bradley version of the game to play at home.
