the "left" MADE Sarah Palin & Co.
Edited on Wed Nov-17-10 01:16 PM by GSLevel9
So I was thinking about this...

Sarah is a political newb, plain and simple. She has good credentials to be on the School Board or possibly a State Representative.

Bristol has no dancing skills but advances past more talented dancers and has advanced to the finals of DWTS.

So what's up with the Palin's "overachieving"?

It's not actually anything the Palin's do. It's what the "left" does.

The "left" has made Sarah Palin.

Every time she's called a bimbo, every time her daughter is called a cow, every time the family is called grifters...

They recruit another cadre of TeaBagging supporters.

SO what IS Sarah Palin? Is Sarah a transformative figure? No. Sarah Palin is simply a figurehead, Sarah Palin is a monument for the TeaBaggers to worship. Sarah is an empty suit. Sarah isn't Sarah because of anything she's said or done, she's the manifestation of Millions of angry (mostly white) folks...

The more that the "left" hates Sarah and Co, the more powerful she becomes. If she'd been ignored and cast away after 2008, she wouldn't be on FOX and her daughter wouldn't be on DWTS. Hate her some more... hate her a LOT and add in a really bad economy in 2012 and Election 2012 might just look like DWTS.

At this point, can she simply be ignored? No. It's too late. But she should be attacked on her weaknesses as a politician and a leader. People should be reminded of her previous statements and opinions.

If palin hadn't been met with so much negativity (not that she didn't deserve it) she'd already be a footnote.

Because I thought John McCain gave us that horrid creature and her hillbilly (sorry to hillbillies) family. She's the one who decided to stick around. FOX News hired her after she quit her Governorship.

7. the right, msm and special interests
would have had NO INTEREST in her if she weren't a lightning rod. The more controversial she is, the more hated... the more despised... the more fans she will have in the "forty percenter's" and the vermin will cater to that group.

Let's pretend for a moment that Kay Bailey Hutchinson was Veep choice... and said some dumb things. She'd be forgotten in 5 minutes.

when you see Sarah Palin on TV you're not really seeing an ex-Governor, TV personality.

You're seeing the "forty percenter's" specter. If Michelle Bachman was the Veep choice, Michelle Bachman would be "Sarah Palin".

10. Ms Palin owes her succ...notoriety to Hillary Clinton
With Hillary's candidacy the Republicans decided they wanted a woman on the stage.

Palin was probably considered just a much a 'throw away' candidate as McCain

Since the election, it's only the M$M making Sarah.

24. Especially Palin. She promoted herself as someone the left hates.
She's always setting up these fictitious epic battles between herself and the left wing forces of evil.

But, her success is due almost entirely to the media who dignify this grifter. Just like they dignify the vacuous tea klanners by calling them "a movement" and opining about their "philosophy.

It would look just like this if Rupert Murdoch decided Santa Claus was real. The next day, CNN would have a Santa analyst to compete with Fox's Santa Hour and MSNBC would be apologizing for their anti-Santa slant.

lol

49. And Christine O'Donnell is the other figure.
If Christine O'Donnell had been a social worker or a nurse with gray hair, sensible shoes, and 30 extra pounds on her frame, the media wouldn't have made such a fuss. Mind you, the silly season elements were a nice touch, but again, she got into the limelight because she was cute and the tea party's choice, not because she was a viable candidate, or even remotely qualified.

It's all as fake as it can be.

23. There are several lefty political bloggers I can think of
here in Alaska who would argue that Sarah Palin made THEM, i.e., Shannyn Moore, Jeanne Devon of the Mudflats, etc. Sarah just is who she is, and she's a force to be reckoned with. I would put the blame squarely with John McCain and whoever advised him to pick her. The reason I say that is because no one from McCain's campaign bothered to vet her here or they would have known what a polarizing figure she is. Even before she went out on the national stage and went batshit crazy she had pretty well divided the Alaska Republican Party, and as we've seen, she continues to do just that with the national.

Palin is exactly the type of right wing fake populist that the PTB have been recruiting in Latin America for decades. Corrupt as hell, venial and about as deep as a spilled drink. What is interesting is now the same interests are running her here at home.

And the point in the OP was that all the attention given to her is WHY the need to keep her out of public office exists.

This need and desire to eliminate her has led to vile personal attacks, so yes, it is a weird obsession that the far-left has with her. Almost like they are afraid of her. Its ridiculous. She was made into a wart when she was nothing but a pimple.

His choice of her, or his handlers choosing her, proved to her and her family that it's destiny for them to inflict themselves on America. To me, it just proves that mediocrity, just like how untalented people such as Paris Hilton and Snooki are now famous, is ruling our world.

McCain gave her an August-November guarantee of publicity, and the fact that she appealed to the republican base more than mccain did meant that even after the election her name was still out there on yard signs with his name crossed off.

39. Bull. Pucky.
First of all, your statement that "good credentials to be on the School Board or possibly a State Representative" is laughable.

Since when would a Governor of a state run to be on a school board, or to be a state representative? Whatever you or I think of her, the citizens of Alaska thought enough of her at one time to make her their Governor. Therefore it is absurd to suggest that she is a political newbie.

Furthermore, the fact that John McCain chose her as his running mate is what catapulted her to the national stage. Few on the left, or anywhere else, for that matter, had ever heard of her.

By your logic, every time one of ours gets called names by the right, they should become a larger figure on the national stage. Funny how it never works out like that.

There are many factors. Yes, if we call her a grifter, some on the right will take offense and will support her more. So what? Since when should we modulate telling the truth, because someone else might not want to hear it?

41. Many people "made" Palin...
...not the least of whom were Axelrod, Emanuel, Gibbs and others in the White House... or have you forgotten the strategy after the election of painting the new leadership of the Republican Party as Limbaugh, Palin, and the right-wing talkers?

It was all supposed to put the GOP into the grave. Instead, it brought them back to life. Limbaugh, Palin, and the right-wing talkers really did become the new leadership of the Republican Party.

Smart bunch, that pragmatic group...
