There May Be a Problem
SEOUL — North Korea bombarded a South Korean island with dozens of artillery shells Tuesday in one of the fiercest attacks on its neighbor since the Korean War ended in 1953

South Korea's military said two soldiers were killed, 17 were wounded and three civilians were also hurt after dozens of shells hit Yeonpyeong island.

This looks very bad. We're already in two illegal wars. Spending trillions of dollars on them. Financially hurt from the Bu$h regime. And now this happens. WE CANNOT GET INTO ANOTHER WAR! WE CANNOT SPEND ANOTHER CENT ON BLOODSHED! Otherwise. we are done as a country. That's just my opinion.

My question to all my DU friends out there is simply this: What should be done? Cause the way it looks to me, the North and the South are gearing up for a mighty big skirmish.

:(

an irrational enemy. I mean crazy irrational in the way that makes for the perfect international player. I think, as always, neither Russia or China want a nuclear war in their backyard and they will put the pressure where it needs to be to end this. The leadership of N Korea may be crazy, but it ain't crazy enough to mess with China.

4. I honestly don't know HOW crazy KJI is.
I always remember Lewis Black's comedy routine when thinking of Jong Ill. He said something about Jong Il being SOOOOOOO evil, he had no color. Like one of those old TV's from the 50's. He's just black and white.

Although, whatever happens, I hope there is as little bloodshed as possible...

2. This is happening *because* we're already in two illegal wars
and KJI knows we're overtasked. Just like Hirohito knew we would be 70 years ago.

We'll likely have to shift forces as priorities demand. It ain't gonna be pretty.

3. It's all up to China
North Korea can't feed itself and is dependent upon China for virtually all its trade.

5. Predictable saber rattling
Heavier than usual. With regime change in the cards no telling what the crazy commie brain trust is doing. Hell, the South just started sending them food.
