Edited on Tue Nov-23-10 01:25 PM by rainbow4321
on a plane today. Somehow, it ended up landing in the aisle, the CNN worker saw it, reported it to the flight attendent who confinscated it and refused to let the CNN people take a picture of it.

I'm sure they will repeat the report, I just grabbed bits and pieces of it. There was a picture taken by the CNN person but it was a picture of the flight attendent kinda half hidden by a wall.

So much for all this increased security checks

Here is a tweet about it:
#CNN: A loaded gun magazine was found Tuesday morning on a Southwest Flight from Burbank to Phoenix. #Southwest

1. Shouldn't they have taken a picture BEFORE reporting it?

2. Was just watching the "reporting" on that as well.
Something does not pass the smell test here.

6. More details are that a kid was playing with it after finding it
under a seat. The FA then took it, didn't know what it was, and then the CNN person told her it was a loaded gun magazine.

7. Yes, that is the most likely explanation
There's no way a loaded magazine could make it through a properly tuned walk-through metal detector or the X-ray.

4. Could have been lawful
You would be shocked at how many law enforcement officers (includes Forest Rangers, Deputy Sheriffs, Postal Inspectors, IRS inspectors, ad nauseam) are allowed to ride armed in the cabin. Maybe one of these bozo's dropped their magazine.

5. If they did drop it, they should have their permit revoked.

But it could be another one of those security readiness checks. TSA or affiliates throwing this out there to check responses.

8. If so, the FA flunked. She didn't know what it was
until she was told by a passenger. Only then did she take it away.

10. CNN said their producer recognized it when the stewardess held it up
if you believe that wasnt the flying waitress' attempt to drop a news story to the CNN person, I've got a bridge to sell you

9. A loaded handgun clip w/o a handgun is less dangerous than a roll of dimes or a hair brush. n/t

11. No, it isn't. It's a good size to hold in a closed fist, like a roll of quarters.
There's no way it would be less dangerous than a roll of dime. Of course, the hairbrush could poke someone's eye out.

12. Not a likely test
TSA doesn't conduct tests like that with passengers on board. It could have been a fumbled test though. Or it simply could have been a passenger who took their gun out of their bag, but forgot to take out the spare magazine before going to the airport. I've heard it happen before.

16. Look for more Conviently timed events in the next few weeks.
Those in control of the Police State are not going to allow the Proles to dictate how things are done.

We do not live in a Free Country.

Prepare for harsh lessons in this.
