3. Are they using the fear font?
Edited on Tue Nov-23-10 02:05 PM by rocktivity
Remember that from The Daily Show? And don't miss the ending--it's more relevant than ever.

P.S. if the magazine was "seen", how do they know how loaded it is?

7. Should we pretend that these incidents never happen
in order to prove the TSA wrong? Or would a better approach be to suggest alternative measures of keeping plane travel safe?

10. Suggest alternative measures, such as dogs (very effective) and air marshals.
Effective and so much cheaper than the $7B currently spent.

11. Does Southwest have armed pilots?
Some airlines do...

Could have been an Air Marshall or a Pilots magazine.

13. My brother in law is a Southwest pilot...
he wouldn't need a gun (I'm serious, he could literally break a guy's neck in about two seconds). But I don't know if he's allowed to carry.

14. Awesome
I would rather put my trust in any pilot over a TSA agent any day.

I'm amazed at how they try to fine an airline pilot for having a piece of airline cutlery(the exact same they give everyone on the plane) in his bag. Newsflash to the TSA... A pilot can destroy a plane and kill everyone on board without anything. A naked pilot with no baggage could kill in essence destroy the plane.

but the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. He wouldn't hesitate to take an idiot hijacker out, gun or no gun. I wish I could fly with him all the time.

19. Air Force
He used to fly KC135s (I think) and retired after 20 years. In his spare time, he's an Ironman triathlete and a martial arts guy.

18. I guess it's a matter of opinion
They may not have the same grip on our base instincts, but IMO there are a hundred other stories which could and should take precedence.
