I sat and watched the entire episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska tonight

I don't know how they call this entertainment. It was so trivial and superficial I don't understand how in the world Discovery thought putting her on the TeeVee would be interesting. All I can say is they went fishing a lot because the son is supposed to take over his father's business. The kids take a flight literally down the road less than 20 miles to visit relatives with a Downs Syndrome child. And daughter Willow has a birthday.

And then I thought of another angle, where some very wealthy Reich-wing corporatist who wants another Booshe in office PAID them to put this piece of shit on the air to appeal to the 'base'. And any other not too bright independent out there to try and soften her image while planing another theft of an election in 2012.

Tinfoilhat theory, maybe, but there is NO other explanation for the existence of this show.

:tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat: :tinfoilhat:

(it's fun watching the unrecing crew try and keep the recs down on this thread)

2. Every event on that show is a potential soundbyte for a campaign ad.
Campaign ads tearing her apart. Things to be brought up during a debate. I say that we let her keep digging that hole.

3. I agree with you, but the show is pointless
The conflict between the Tuttles, amazing because they PRODUCE something the public actually wants. Deadliest Catch, amazing show of a lifestyle I could never imagine. Mythbusters, enough said.

Sarah Palin, yuk.

6. Oh, I hear you.
And I agree, even with your examples (Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters...love them both). I can't comprehend a reason behind watching that shit (thanks for taking that bullet for the rest of us, LOL!) but I try to look at any possible positive.

Alaskan reality shows have been really GOOD up until now, and here comes Sarah to spoil it all for us -- again. Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Tougher in Alaska, all those wonderful National Geographic specials -- and then SARAH and her grifter family??? It boggles the mind.

19. Yes Sir,
This time it's Bushette, or Shrubette. I don't discount her they'll steal another election and the USSC will stop the counting of votes. It's precedent although, they said - only this time. (2000)

25. There is major money against her and that will do
what they have to to keep her off the ticket. Dubya could be controlled and taught - Palin is a nut out for money - she just wants someone to pay her well to support them in 2012. She will back the highest bidder.

Oh, and don't you forget about Murkowski, she will do what she can to be sure that Palin never makes it on to another ballot.

Palin destroyed her father and tried to ruin her political career, there is no love loss there.

31. No, because Rove detests Palin
Rove, and the fact that he was a Bush, got Shrub into office. Palin doesn't have either of these factors behind her. If she even gets close to the Bush/Rove anointed candidate, Rove will destroy her.

i don't have cable so i haven't seen any of it, but i don't think i could have made it all the way through.

i definitely think she has her eye on the prize... as she needs all the drama she can get, apparently, to keep the cash flow'n in :puke:

whats really scary is the thought that she may actually be POTUS :scared:

US TeeVee viewers eat that shit up!

She's aiming at one pretty large demographic.

Edited on Sun Nov-28-10 10:51 PM by DainBramaged
The show where the people are 'stranded' is another that comes to mind.

Yup, big demographic. If ALL they get are the 3,000,000 FAUX zombies who watch FAUX 24/7 then the show will be considered successful. And then syndication and look out world.

13. It's mind-boggling that having a t.v. show like this is considered
desirable exposure for a presidential wannabe. Next we'll be seeing Rick Santorum making a guest appearances on Two and a Half Men as a prelude to the announcement that he's going to run in 2012.

14. The Republicans won (for the most part) by demonizing Harry Reed and Nancy Pelosi
and playing on the fears of a bigoted public.

It's a new dawn. These are the people who are trying to disassemble public schools, kill net neutrality, grope you at the airport, and put a dingbat on TeeVee as a prelude to a Presidential campaign.

It can happen, be very afraid.

18. Most of America agrees with you, I think.
It's set a record for TLC ratings in its first episode(probably due to plain old curiosity), but dropped a full 40% the next week to around something like 3 million viewers. Also read that less than 1 mil were in that key 18-49 yo demographic (average age of viewer was something like 57?).

20. The Walking Dead on AMC does better
It's averaging 5 million a week which is 2 million better than Mad Men.

So zombies outdraw Sister Sarah and her grifter family.

33. That's interesting, since most of her viewers would be her' fans' & teapbag buddies.
I'm guessing they only find her interesting when she's attacking someone or making hateful, divisive comments.

I don't think the show has enough red meat for the teabaggers.

21. I clicked on it back and forth last week. Tonite I watched about half of it. She looks really bad.
All she does is yap yap yap through every event. Nobody else in her family, just her.

Tawd and the oldest son look to have a terrible relationship.

And the part where she had Bristol club the fish to death - it's supposed to make everyone see how tough and real they are.

As her daughter was clubbing the fish Sarah commented "I wonder what she's thinking about when she's doing that. It's a good way to get out aggression". That's bizarre.

A normal person would comment, "this isn't pretty, but this is how it's done, this is how we get our food."

I don't think this show is helping her.

Makes sense since she's always focused on revenge.
