2. In the mid-90's the younger students at University challenged..
me when I told them that Leslie Nielsen had been a serious dramatic actor
in the 40's, 50's and sixties. That he often played the police or the villain.
They wondered how anyone kept from laughing...

He was a truly great comedy actor. RIP

4. Also sci-fi. Check him out in "Forbidden Planet".
Surely, not the schtick we associate with Leslie Nielsen but it's pretty great. (Yes, I was calling him Shirley)

10. That's one of my alltime favorite movies! He was so straight-laced! What a contrast.
A really nice man in person, and totally embraced his comedic shtick.
