Your laws are very puzzling America.

I don't understand why you put people in prison for years for using marijuana, but someone can announce they are about to reveal secret government papers, which seems more serious to me, and nothing is done about it, except wringing your hands.

1. What puzzles me is (not really)
Sending people off for years and years for marijuana and won't arrest admitted war criminals.

In America, drugs are bad but war crimes are good faith gestures.

15. War crimes were also called Crusades when idiot son
slipped that time. It's amazing that both Poppy and Idiot Son got to get away with war crimes. I can't get over it.

The other night, I was watching an old movie made in the 1960s. It had a news anchor on there giving the news. The government was actually answering questions in that movie. :wow: I thought to myself, "Gee, there was a time when our government had to actually answer questions." Nowadays, they can always say "no comment" or just lie, which is what they do most of the time...and nobody blinks an eye over it. We accept all this crap as "normal" now.

5. What do you mean?
I'm simply pointing out how ludicrous it is for a government to put more importance on jailing marijuana users than stopping citizens from revealing possibly damaging information,(according to the government).

8. How are they putting "more importance" on one than the other?
Edited on Mon Nov-29-10 06:48 AM by BzaDem
What could they have done in the latter case (someone revealing possibly damaging information) that they have not already done? What could they have done to convince you that they were putting "more importance" on the classified info case than the marijuana user? I don't think we even know what country Assange is currently residing in.

9. So, the US should arrest Canadians in Canada for smoking pot?

Or is it that US laws should apply everywhere on the planet except Canada?

18. Canada does a fine job of that by herself...
They average 40,000 Canadians charged with possesion each year.

What exactly do you propose we do to him that doesn't involve the CIA or predator drones?

13. I'm not wringing my hands over anything.
The fact that the federal government was taking over by a criminal administration in 2000 is not disputed.
These criminals are still free. Criminals are still in the place and running things as they see fit. There is a shadow government
that trumps reason when it comes to the people.

they are not a US citizen and thus not covered in our laws.

the country in which the information is leaked is a sovereign nation.

the solder who 'supposedly' released the document IS in jail and awaiting trial.

Now- what was your question again?

I thought Wikileaks was in the U.S.A.....I didn't realize it was out of the country.
That is why I thought it strange that your laws didn't stop them from what they were doing.
Now that I know, I take back what I said...Okay?
