-- a poll of Texas political insiders -- finds that 58% think Gov. Rick Perry (R) will run for president, despite his insistence that he's not interested.

However, only 22% think he should run, while 70% say he shouldn't.

So what? Only one will win the nomination. I don't know who the other half of the ticket will be - or even who will be on top, but Christie will be part of it.

Not as good looking (although Perry looks very soulless and worn these days). And there was an entire website devoted to pointing out that Perry was too cowardly to debate Bill White. We demanded that he face us with answers. And he never did. And he won anyway because the Texas voters, 67 PERCENT OF WHOM VOTED FOR SOMEONE ELSE IN THE PRIMARIES, voted in His Slickness.

Who was voting for Perry because "he's a good Christian man." I asked her if a good Christian man would advocate the TransTexas Corridor, taking away rich farm and ranch land that had been in Texan families for generations. Her reply? "I'm a Yankee, so I don't give a damn about Texas."

28. He used to come to my law office
I worked for trial lawyers and Perry was a Dem. When he got the word that the corporations were going to go for tort reform big time in Texas in the early 90s (so many of them would move here and get their corporate welfare in a corporate welfare-friendly environment), Perry switched parties. Any way the wind blows so long as it is at Perry's back and supporting Rick. Somewhere along the line, he made the deal with the devil.

33. The 2012 NH Republican primary ballot will look like the one...
that put Schwarzenegger into the California governor's mansion. It had about 200 people on it, and 95 percent of them probably got about a hundred votes apiece.

This is serious: right now, EVERY Republican, including Palin, Perry, Gingrich, Boner, Haley Barbour, Bob McDonnell and Chris Christie thinks he or she can beat President Obama in 2012. Since it only costs $1000 to file for the NH Primary, they will ALL run.

By the time we're out of Super Tuesday, I think we'll be rid of everyone except Gingrich, McDonnell, Barbour and Christie.
