Gibbs has nothing to but "leaking is a crime." Mr Gibbs? So is TORTURE
And when it's obvious to the entire universe that the US doesn't care about it's leaders flouting international law, it follows that not caring for our nation's laws that hide its secret works aren't going to be respected either.

Sure, it's law breaking. But here is the bottom line: The US lacks the moral authority to intervene with governments and news agencies around the world to prevent the publishing of the leaks.

Law is worthless without credibility behind it.

3. The US also lacks legal authority to prosecute when he is not in the USA.
They either need to arrest him when he is in the US or have him extradited. I doubt many countries would want to waste time on that and he would most likely avoid those that would allow extradition.

someone hired to convey information on behalf of the administration? Jesus, the mendacity of this board makes me want to scream sometimes. Pick a person and blame them for everything. Keerist, where was all this angst when it came to CONGRESS over the past few years.

17. I find it fascinating that they're going all apoplectic
over Wikileaks while George Bush admits to ordering torture and all we hear is crickets. I'm loving Wikileaks. If we can all be told that we have nothing to fear from warrantless wiretaps as long as we're not doing anything wrong, the governments can be told the same. Like they say, sunshine is the best disinfectant.

...when a member of the White House Press Corps(e) follows up with that exact point, asking him why no one was prosecuted for authorizing and committing torture in direct violation of U.S. and International laws.
