Has your state raised taxes recently? Has your economy been affected?
Edited on Thu May-24-07 11:29 PM by ih8thegop
Lawmakers here in Michigan are debating whether to increase taxes to fix a $3 billion hole in the budget, with some (including the Dem Governor, Dem state legislators, and even the Chamber of Commerce!) saying tax hikes are needed and others saying we can't because it would hurt the economy (which anyone will tell you it isn't).

It would seem to me that raising taxes does not have such a negative effect on the economy. I mean, didn't Clinton raise taxes on the wealthy, costing Dems control of Congress in 1994? That was followed by the longest period of economic expansion in American history.

So has your state raised taxes? How is your state's economy?
