1. Proud that BOTH my senators
Kerry and Kennedy are there. My rep Tierney voted no as well.

I'll be thanking them all today and thanking my lucky stars that I don't live in Florida any more!

2. I'm willing to at least listen to a Sen. and why they voted yes of no,
but the ones I think REALLY deserve scrutiny are the ones who DIDN'T VOTE AT ALL!

Here's the list of chickenshits.

Brownback
Coleman
Hatch
Schumer
Thomas

The only one who had a ligitimate excuse was Johnson.

4. Do not thank Obama and Clinton. They did not lead, they made others
provide cover.

All day long the press asked Obama and Clinton what they were going to do with the vote. They said no comment. They could have lead the No vote, but they chose to be quiet.

During the last minutes before the vote closed Obama quietly went up and said No and then left. Clinton quietly did the same. Bush already had all the Yay votes he needed, so it was safe for Obama and Clinton to pander to their base. If Bush did not have sufficient number of Yay votes, I am quite positive Obama and Clinton would have voted differently.

7. You are thankful that they waited to vote until it was sure Bush got his funds?
The vote opened

Enough votes were made to ensure the bill was passed

Obama quietly enters the room, votes no and quickly leaves.

Clinton does the same a couple minutes later.

They were able to vote no only on the back of other Senators. They stayed away and stayed quiet until it was sure others did the dirty work and they could politically say "hey I voted No" . Bull. I am positive they would have voted Yes if Bush did not have the votes he needed and needed two more.

11. My thoughts exactly
If they were positively going to vote no -- why wait? It really smacks of waiting to see where the crowd was going. That ISN'T a leadership quality.

12. He didn't vote
maybe because of the Lyme treatment, maybe because he wanted a longer weekend.

10. WHAT? Maryland's Senators cave in?
That's it. Not another dime for Mikulski or Cardin. No more lawn signs. No more campaign literature handouts. Bloody sell-outs!

15. Jim Webb (VA) has a son stationed in Iraq...
..y'know, the one that Herr Decider may have obliquely threatened with that "How's yer boy?" comment to Webb. The Senator from VA has a vested interest in how the situation in Iraq fares, so I'll cut him some slack.
