If you could ask Obama one question what would it be?
I think there are obviously a lot of us who have gotten fairly pessimistic recently and have sort of begun giving into the sheer hopelessness one can feel when you think about our current political situation. I think the main reason I have gotten so depressed recently is because of how much the recent Wikileaks dump substantiates many of our worst fears about Obama. I then started wondering what I would do if I had the opportunity to ask him about these revelations and how he would respond.

So my question is what would you ask Obama if you could ask him one question and he had to answer you. I would ask him to simply explain his reasoning behind the decision to exert political pressure on Spain to get them to drop an investigation into George Bush's criminal wrongdoing. I would ask this question because I dont really see how he could wiggle his way out of answering it, there are a lot of questions I would like to ask but I feel many of them could be easily brushed aside with the right rhetoric.

I'm guessing he wanted to run with the wolves without sleeping with the fishes.

3. Why after an 18 month primary period and a 5 month general election...
Why are your diehard supporters turning on you when they knew exactly how you would govern given the opportunity?

I understand that some folks don't read the paper every day, but sheesh!

6. Why do you attack people as being ill-read/stupid?
It's a constant theme of yours, and sheesh is right.

8. I don't think that is the case.
My point goes back to the tired and often misquoted expression about not being angry because you are not paying attention.

But seriously, after 183 debates and 2 years of campaigning, people really should not be surprised by how the President is governing.

(And I was a Hillary supporter!)

"I will be a fierce advocate for gay rights." All we can do is take Obama at his word. The next one will be Obama's core campaign promise about letting the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy expire. We've paid plenty of attention to the man's own words, and the problem is decidedly not that we weren't "paying attention"!

11. I thought that the core promise was that nobody making less than 250K would see a tax hike?
DADT/DOMA - CONGRESS

Any tax/revenue bill - CONGRESS

It took a joint Blanche Lincoln/Mary Landrieu foot rub to get the Senate to agree to a neutered health care bill.

12. 'DADT/DOMA - CONGRESS" Yes, poor Obama, sitting in his Oval office...
eating bonbons and just waiting for that nasty old Congress to send him something to sign. He realizes he is not the leader of the party and that making phone calls to Congressional leaders is out of bounds. So he sits there impotent, waiting. Waiting.

I am not going to use sarcasm or a cheap insult with you.

I respect you, but I think you are wrong on this.

15. That was one of my thoughts.
Another: "Who are you, and what did you do with the guy who got our nomination two years ago?"

THAT GUY is who we need telling the GOP how things are going to be.

5. If the GOP hadnt gone freakin crazy from Reagan on
and you could go back in time, would you have been happier today as a Republican than as a Democrat that had to pretend to be somewhat liberal to win office?
