It reminds me of someone who thinks if they are super nice to their abuser, their abuser will stop
beating them up.

Mitchy isn't going to play nice, Mr President, just because you were nice to him. Neither is Palin, or Rush or Beck or Boner or Cantor or .....

Nope, instead you showed them how to walk all over you.

2. I prefer the petting a mean dog and he bites you analogy.
If you pet a mean dog and he bites you and you keep sticking your hand out only to have it bitten each time......Is it the dogs fault?

5. This is nonsense.
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 11:17 PM by IRemember
He isn't timid or weak. He wants to pass neoliberal legislation. All of this is theater. He wants to extend the tax cuts for the wealthy. HELLO? Who were the primary funders of his campaign? The financial institutions. He is an extremely pro-business Democrat, much like Mr. Clinton.

10. If I recall, Mr Clinton (with all of his faults)
raised taxes on the wealthy and left us with a surplus.

Yes, we have NAFTA, Gramm–Leach–Bliley, DADT and DOMA - but what prey tell, has Mr. Obama (a) made it better (b) status quo or (c) B + made it worse?

One can only wonder what he promised India, S Korea and Indonesia (et al) last month on his 'business building' tour.

12. It is either 1) he can't or 2) he won't. Either way the result is the same.
Neoliberal is not a good thing. At least Clinton really did boost the middle class. I would take Bill Clinton over this any day of the week.

9. I feel like we voters are the abused ones.
We keep making excuses for the man who disappoints time and time again. "But I love him!!!" At least he should give us flowers and candy and a massage.

14. WE did not fail him. He failed us.
but I believe he sort of means well.

There's something we don't know about why we -the American working class- are getting sold down the river. There is something we don't know why we don't matter.

11. Obama was a hard-knuckle Chicago politician - not a babe in the woods and not a victim
He knows exactly what he's doing.

15. I don't think he did. Look at his face lately.
The President's expression looks stunned, shocked, but not frozen. He knows something he isn't telling us. It would be better if he did. I believe we could take it. He's hurting himself by hiding the truth, whatever it is.

17. I agree he knows the 'truth'
whatever that is.

It would be nice to know the real story behind his presidential campaign.
