Listened to Rush, briefely, on my lunch hour. He stressed 2 points.
he ranted that the democrats should be furious with the president. he believes he "betrayed" us.

he does not want the republicans to compromise with the president at all because winning in 2012 is the only goal.

Rush & the republicon base do NOT want compromise. they do NOT want to give the democrats ANY victory at all. In other words, if the tax bill, as outlined by President Obama yesterday, is passed, it will tick off the republican base. They say they want more tax cuts.. but they don't want them from democrats. They WILL ACTUALLY FIGHT AGAINST TAX CUTS if a democratic president is the one signing the bill.

1. An irrelevant troll
with a drug-addled mind. I can't imagine wasting my time listening to his spittle.

6. A troll yes. Irrelevant, sadly no.
And I can't imagine that, either.

2. Rush's "concern" for the status of the Democratic Party is touching.
Edited on Wed Dec-08-10 02:19 PM by Proud Liberal Dem
Like I'm sure that he really cares if Obama has "betrayed" the Democratic Party. :eyes: He, like other Republicans, wants us at each other's throats right about now. While we're firing on each other, the Republicans are continuing to get away with their obstruction and running out the clock on this lame duck session of Congress ensuring that things like DREAM Act, DADT Repeal, etc. don't get done- for which, of course, Obama will get the blame (since he's automatically to blame for everything nowadays).

BTW how "briefly" did you listen to him? I can usually only make it 5 seconds to him (or pretty much any right-wing host) before I start wanting to break my radio and throw it out my car window. I used to rely on Joseph Lyle's "Limbaugh Lie of the Day" or "Pressure Points" podcasts to find out what he's spewing on any given day but, unfortunately, he hasn't done any new episodes since August 2009.
:argh:

9. Oh, it wasn't "concern" at all. He wants us to be mad at our president
so that we won't vote for him in 2012. There's no "concern" on his part for us at all.

I listened for the amount of time it took me to drive back to work from my house after lunch. About 10 minutes. I flip over to listened once in a blue moon when there's something really big happening politically, just to see what he's ranting about. He used to really piss me off, but now I just laugh at his idiocy. It's amazing that his followers see his as anything more than an entertainer who is making a buck off of their stupidity.

13. I know that Rush isn't "concerned" about us as a party at all
They LOVE to see us at each other's throats- probably just as much as we like to watch them go at it with their teabaggers.

10 Minutes?! Wow! You must have a pretty strong constitution. As to your comment about Rush being an entertainer making bucks of the stupidity of his "dittohead" followers, you're absolutely positively 100% correct!

3. You must either have a strong stomach or on a diet
I can't stand to listen to him at all.
I once had a sales route from Key West to Vero and there were areas where the only station that I could get is the local one he spew from. Since I was out in the glades I would keep the radio on for any emergencies, I nearly got caught in a fire a couple of times.

...in regard to teaching evolution in schools vs. "intelligent design," that they don't want "equal time" - they want ALL THE TIME THERE IS.

8. For years, Rush and his ilk accused Democrats of wanting Bush to fail
Anyone making the perfectly sensible and logical observation that Bush administration policies were doomed to failure (e.g., Afghanistan, Iraq, economy, etc., etc., etc.) was accused by Mr. Limbaugh and his pals of rooting for America's failure, and hinting (and sometimes saying right out) that we were traitors for doing so. How could we oppose the "popular wartime president"! It was unheard of.

Now, just a short time later, these same pearl-clutching fainting couch habitués are . . . openly rooting for America's failure. In wartime. With a president whose approval numbers Chimpy would have killed for.

10. "The president-ah betray-dah the Democrats" -- kind of like listening to a tv evangelist.
The snake-oil salesman who laughs all the way to the bank.

Hearing his voice is as grating as being subjected to hearing 7-inch fingernails being scraped along a 20-foot chalkboard.
