reports that the website judgemycop.ca launched in November to allow Canadian citizens to rate local police officers on a scale of one through five and comment on their interactions with cops, like how ratemyprofessors.com allows students to rate their college professors.
So far, the site has only attracted comments from four people, all in the Toronto area. Public scrutiny of Toronto police has intensified in recent days after the release of a scathing report by the Ontario ombudsman into G20 policing and an investigation of officers involved in the beating of a man during a June 26 protest.
One user gave a Toronto officer a one-star rating after being pulled over at Bathurst Street in downtown Toronto partly because "he never even gave me a chance to speak."
I wonder how an American site like that would look. Maybe a lot of cops with poor ratings...shown by frowny or neutral faces icons like ratemyprofessors does.
