Bernie Sanders' Filibuster Is A Noble Effort
Edited on Fri Dec-10-10 04:21 PM by MineralMan
It almost certainly will not change the course of things, but it's good to see someone filibuster for real. He's a good man and a great Senator for his state. He is doing what he thinks is the right thing to do, and that's a trait we should encourage in our legislators, even if what he is fighting for does not happen, as is most probable.

You go, Senator Sanders!

2. actually, it forces the Senate to stay in session, it
takes time away from an administration intent on ramming its decisions upon the 98% of the country.

3. Well, he's certainly bringing up a lot of information I didn't know.
Bless his heart. It has to be hard on him to stand there for so long. I wish they'd bring him a stool.

5. It has changed things. It's changed the atmosphere here. It has changed each of
us lucky enough to be watching it - it is a glimmer of light in a dark time. Change doesn't have to be quick or huge...it has to start somewhere.

 :hi:

7. Yes I have been listening now for 2 hours and he is a champion for the middle class!
It will be on the record and we can look back on his speech in two years and see just how much his effort was correct. I will be keeping this in mind in 2012 and I hope we all do!

8. No question. That's why I posted. I have nothing but praise
for Senator Sanders. He is saying what needs to be said. That it will not affect the course of this issue is irrelevant. He is being a Senator, doing what more Senators should be doing on many issues.
