Clinton is advising Obama. In 2000 he thought deregulation of Wall Street was the way to go.

President Clinton supported and signed two major pieces of regulation that deregulated Wall Street.

How did that work out?

At the news conference Clinton claimed the unemployment compensation part of the tax proposal "will bolster the economy for the next couple of years"!

How exactly does that work when the proposal only covers unemployment benefit extensions for one year and certainly will not be renewed by a Republican controlled House next year?

oiy! i realize it's only half agreeing. but still

yes, he should spend more time on Haiti, the slacker. He got a lot of great press during the earthquake and shortly after - o the great humanitarian, bla bla, now he has dropped the fucking ball on That and thinks he can come in and pick up the economy one.

I feel bad Obama agreed to this, Big Bill coming in, but Obama isn't a self centred person - he must have thought this would do some good along the way to get somewhere so who cares what it looks like as long as a good effort is made. He's not a selfish prick.

4. I haven't liked Obama's policy choices, but this gesture of "support" for obama
could not have been arranged in a way that made the sitting President look any weaker.

If he'd wanted to actually help the President he would have arranged for his support to have been publicized in a way that didn't make Obama look like Clinton's little brother.

7. That was my first thought when I saw their presser.
It made Obama look kind of weak as if he had to call in Clinton to mop things up.

5. Appropriate since it was many of Clinton's decisions that set the stage for the
problems were are having now...NAFTA, CAFTA, allowing media conglomeration, deregulation of banking/investment corps, etc etc

Even if it was Congress that passed the, it was Clinton who signed them, and in many cases..fought for them.
