Prosecutors want jail for 'Scooter' Libby
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=252057

U.S. prosecutors have urged prison for Lewis "Scooter" Libby who, in March, was found guilty of lying to investigators over the disclosure of a CIA agent's identity.

It is a crime to disclose the identity of an undercover CIA agent.

Libby is a former White House aide and friend of Vice President Cheney.

Libby was accused of lying to the FBI and a grand jury over the leaking of CIA agent Valerie Plame's identity.

White House critics say the administration covertly revealed Plame's name after her husband, a former ambassador, had publicly cast doubt on the case for going to war in Iraq.

However no White House player has been prosecuted for the leak itself.

2. If the judge lets him go free while the appeal is pending, he'll never spend a day in jail
Libby's strategy will then be to kick the can as long as possible before he gets the inevitable pardon that everyone knows he's going to get on January 20, 2009.

4. He's a convicted criminal and should go to jail
The crime he commited is a bit more serious than driving fast or smoking a joint or some other "naughty naughty" type of crime. He put people's lives in jeopardy.
