Breaking: Iraqi generals suspected in killing of US troops...
Two Iraqi generals suspected of complicity in attack on US GIs

John Byrne
Published: Thursday February 1, 2007

An alert on Fox News Channel claims that two Iraqi generals are suspected of complicity in an attack in Karbala, Iraq that recently killed five US troops.

"There are 2 senior Iraq generals that US officials say are now suspect of involvement in an attack against American forces in Karbala on Jan. 20th," a Fox News host reported on air. "A number of people were killed. These gunmen apparently stormed an Iraqi security dressed like American soldiers and driving SUVs. So again, US officials are saying that 2 senior are suspected of taking part in an insurgent attack that killed 5 American soldiers."

The fake US military convoy that kidnapped and killed 5 soldiers had previously been blamed on Iranian elements.

Originally, the US said the five soldiers had been killed during fighting, but the Associated Press revealed the US statement was a lie.

More details as it becomes available.

5. It just keeps getting worse
"As they stand up we will stand down."

This would be funny if not for all the dead and wounded.

5 Americans were kidnapped, tortured, and shot in the Karbala
raid. Inside job .... no shit U.S. type cars, uniforms, badges, and
communications.

9. "attacks" by "Iranians" on "US or Iraqi" interests cited by Bush as cause for war....
One scenario to investigate: Was this an attempt at a Gulf of Tonkin incident, i.e. to manufacture one? Other scenarios are also worth investigating.

of Iran working for the CIA.
And find out what was really going on.
Behind some kind of fake company set up as a front.
We could call it... Brewster Jennings, or something.

Meanwhile, why do I have a funny funny feeling that Chalabi has something to do with some of/any of the ugliness that may or may not involve Iran??? :eyes:

12. Perhaps this is why this administration has put the "evidence" on Iran's complicity "on hold".
If the insurgents include general rank Iraqi's...is there any realistic assessment that can conclude we can "win" in Iraq? Perhaps now we can better understand why Iraqi's aren't standing up. What possible motivation do they have in making our longterm occupation a success?

25. A key tidbit from the Fox story:
At least one of the Iraqi generals under suspicion for involvement or having advance word of the attack is said to be an intelligence officer, according to U.S. officials.

Edited on Thu Feb-01-07 04:42 PM by butterfly77
how many Iraqis soldiers were killed, who they THINK killed american soldiers.I think they are throwing out anything that they think will stick. How can they tell who killed who. I saw a story last year about the Iraqis selling americans uniforms in there stores, then nothing else did they do anything about it... They went into some of the shops and showed this in the story about the uniforms they seem to think we forget about a lot of these things...
