If this is good enough for wood crafts, how about small garden
projects, like laying flagstone on concrete?

2. There's bound to be some cross-over between this group
and the DIY and Home Improvements Group and maybe even the gardening group. I'm sure you could post in more than one.

If you have questions about technique, my husband is a remodeling contractor so I could ask him. :hi:

3. There's a home improvement forum?
That's really where I should go.

Hey, thanks! This forum works!

4. I painted my concrete porch floor
in my old house, I used painters blue masking tape to mask a grid of eight inch squares, then I painted the squares with the glossy barn red floor oil based paint. Two coats over several days. Then I carefully peeled off the tape and painted the lines with a flat gray oil based floor paint. It worked great and no tile to lay. If you try this and it's really easy, get some knee pads. It looked real enough by the way.

5. You should have told me that before I bought the stone!
Thanks for the idea. I'm sure something will turn up in the future where I can apply it.

7. A friend and her hubby built a timber frame barn for their home
but could not afford to finish the floors. The painted the underlay barn floor red. It showed every footprint, so they got some grey paint, put on some old shoes and tracked it all over the floor. The even had their dog track some paint prints over it.
