Need crochet help!
I'm making this pattern: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/ccw-bolero.html

I'm confused about how to do the increases. Are the increases written into the pattern or am I to make an increase at four "corners" that I choose? On Row 4, the pattern refers to the "corner sc" but such corners have not been identified prior to this row. So am I to throw in an extra stitch myself and then mark it?

I'm afraid I've only done afghans up to now and have not dealt with shaping that often (hence, my problems with the slipper pattern!)

Thanks!

1. Hey Longhorn...
I believe the increases are written in to the pattern-the way I read it. I think as you work the pattern with the repeats it should be evenly divided into 4 repeats and hence show where the corners are. Does that make sense?

2. I think you're right.
Now that I've redone it about six times (!), I see that the "V" stitch is the increase. What I wish the pattern had mentioned was to mark the initial corners and then mention the marked stitches as I go along. The pattern doesn't mention the corners in an actual row until Row 4! I'm also marking the beginning and end of each row because it is not always clear because of the turning.

Anyway, I guess it's obvious to a more experienced crochter but this pattern was rated as "Easy!"

Thanks, Ma'am! :hi: :yourock:
