Heads up on NYC knitting meetup for Yarn Harlot.

Stephanie wants to show the world how many knitters are really out there, so for her book launch, they're thinking big and trying to fill a huge space with as many knitters as possible. I won't be able to go, but all of our DU knitties should see if they can. :)

1. Stephanie = Stephanie Pearl-McPhee

for anyone not "in the know" -- and I only barely am, and only thanks to hanging out at www.knittersreview.com forums.

She's a hilarious knitting author and blogger. Maybe everyone knows all about her; and maybe not.

But no matter how great the plan and worthy the cause, I don't live near NYC and don't have a budget for helping promote knitting to the media.

Is this truly a "MeetUp" -- registered at MeetUp.com -- or are you just calling it that? (I skimmed the link and didn't see anything about MeetUp.com but could have missed it.)

2. It's not official--everything is at her blog.
It's a time to meet and knit with other knitters and listen to an amazingly funny knitter who is publishing another book. I highly recommend anything she's written. I wish I could go, and I'm planning on going to her talk in Ann Arbor.

3. I picked up one of her books yesterday at Michael's
OMG, I almost fell out of bed laughing & that was just the first chapter!!! I wish I could go to this, but hopefully, she'll have a stop in Texas somewhere.

4. She usually goes through Texas at least once every tour.
She did on her last book tour.

I saw her in person once, and she was sooooo funny. :)
