How to lower your monthly DISH bill....I just did it!
2 tricks.

First, this number gets you to a human on one ring:
888-387-6371
The guy was super polite, and in the USA.
( this is apparently the super secret USA number).

I told the guy Mr. D. was wanting to switch to cable tv and internet, to save money, and I wanted to keep DISH, if nice guy could help us lower the bill and save money Mr. D. would lose the switch argument.
I acted like a dufus head housewife..always fun for about 5 minutes.

He put me on hold for less than 2 minutes, came back, said DISH could offer us 15.00 off every bill for 12 months, including the bill I had just opened, because we were customers for awhile and b/c of the economy.
I said, what do I need to do in 12 months, he said hopefully the economy will improve but do check back.

So I called the phone company, same story, ( dsl/cable competition) and got 10.00 off for 2 years.

Let's see....who's next?

4. Dish Network...we use Dish Network.
Altho the same idea will prolly work for any tv provider, since the economy is so bad.
My neighbor told me, after I posted this, she got her phone/dsl combo lowered by 40.00 a month, from the phone company.

5. DirecTV is a terrible company - we fought with them for 3 years over a
bill they sent us for time we were with another company! I found a site with a huge number of complaints on DirecTV over the same thing - their billing department is sadistic and insane and will not listen to any argument, they will just continue to bill you and add late fees.We finally found the CEO's private email address, and the bills stopped.

They keep sending us "we want you back" mailers in the last 4 years we have had Dish...Dish is GREST compared to DirecTV - I'd never change...
