"The best thing ever that happen was once in 1975, I found a cool cigarette case at a thrift shop I went to all the time, it was marked $5. But, the nice lady came down on the price for me. I wanted it, even though I'd NEVER smoke a cigarette It was beautiful, gold and silver with blue and white rhinestones all over it, very "classy" so I splurged and bought it for $2.50. Which, at the time was a lot for me to pay, because I was very poor. When I moved to NYC in 1990, I took showed it to a new friend, who said it was a Cartier piece. I took it to be appraised and it was valued at over $10,000! The rhinestones weren't rhinestones, they were real Diamonds and Sapphires, and the silver wasn't silver, but platinum, the gold was 18 Ct. I almost peeded my pants! So, you never know what you'll find."

I know I'll find soul-mates there. I've "junking" around for years. It used to embarrass my kids but guess who is doing it now? My feeling is that if you find something that you can wash, dry clean, repair, refinish or otherwise make use-able, go for it. The money you save can be used on something else you need.

My pleasure is in the joy of finding something I can use or enjoy for a price that would otherwise make it impossible to buy.
