What would be an acceptable resolution to this mess?
I'm so disappointed, I don't even know what to ask for, and this is the first time I've had a problem like this.

I won an auction on ebay for a lot of 42 books. The box arrived today. In the box were 30 books. 26 of the books were ones that were listed in the auction and 4 were books that weren't listed in the auction. 16 books listed in the auction are MIA. I emailed the seller and she claims she "double checked" everything and all books should be there.

What's fair? A partial refund? should I leave negative feedback? Granted it's not a huge amount of money, but I hate feeling taken advantage of.

thanks for any input.

1. Good heavens - how does someone forget 16 books completely?
At the very least she should give you a partial refund. If she doesn't, I'd definitely leave negative feedback. If you paid by PayPal you can open a dispute and they'll hold the cash in her account until its resolved.

2. Thankfully, she worked to resolve the situation
she offered a complete refund, which I thought showed a lot of integrity. I told her I thought half was fair, and she immediately refunded it through paypal.

I was worried this was going to be a big hassle, but thankfully it was an honest seller. :D

3. That's good. As an ebay seller, I've made mistakes, too.
If you stick with people who have a ton of good feedback, you're usually okay.
