good rummages
Can you tell me what are a few necessities for a successful rummage? We're having a sale this weekend.

1. Price Tags
It's also okay to have dime tables or dollar tables, but for heavens sake price stuff in some way or other. Nothing irks me more than having to ask how much something costs which means if you don't buy it you're cheap.

I also did good at my last sale by giving something away. It was more an observation than a strategy, but I noticed that if I gave a kid the silly toy they picked up, it would tip the parent towards buying whatever they were thinking about. I'd have given the kid the silly toy anyway, it's just something I noticed.

And people who were buying for an adult kid's new apartment or something, I'd offer a bunch of stuff I really didn't want for free, and then they'd inevitably buy a few items that I might not have sold otherwise.

I also had a little collectible corner that attracted a lot of attention. Oh, and talk to people, talk talk talk. I buy more often if somebody has been chatty with me and found that true in reverse too. Not pushy this is such a great product, but just general how's the weather, tell stories about different items, stuff like that.

My daughter and I made $2-300, somewhere in there. Maybe more. We ran it for two days.

Good Luck!

3. A couple of our local churches have rummage sales and
instead of pricing everything, they have it by donation only. One of the ladies told me they make more money by donation.
