Will one of you great people let me know which of the 'antiques'
programs you can watch on Hulu or one of the other free sites? I feel deprived since I have such stupid, basic cable that nothing is available to me. I'm sure Antiques Roadshow is somewhere on PBS but that is one of my least favorite shows. It is too 'over the top'. I would like to see some real programs on antiques and the "hunt" for all these goodies. Fun stuff, not stuffed shirt variety. Who among us has really found the Seymour table or the 500,000 piece of art?

Evenings are starting to get long. I need winter entertainment.

1. can you get the history channel?
If not, you can watch episodes of American Picker and Pawn Stars right on the web site. http://www.history.com/shows/american-pickers

And here's a link to full episodes of Hollywood Treasure, where they find and auction off such things as ruby slippers and the witch's hat from Wizard of Oz. http://www.history.com/shows/american-pickers

I think you can find most of the shows we have discussed on other threads in full episodes on the Internet. Happy watching! And sorry about that big storm that dumped on you this week!

2. With my basic Comcast , I get very little programming, I am looking
for access to something on the internet that is free. TV brings me so little that I never turn it on.
My basic does not include the history channel. In fact, it includes only junk that is of no interest to me. I am told by Comcast that the programming is based on demographics and that unless I buy a higher tier (much more $$), I have no option. I do not want home shopping, evangelists and Spanish speaking channels.

Regarding the storm, it was a lulu. The wind was so strong that it kept me awake all night. I think we got about 18 inches. Drifts are a huge problem and in that regard. I have some drifts in my yard that are about 12' high. Some in our area are flooded and fires have resulted because of flood waters hitting electric transformers. It is a mess.
Not as bad as the blizzard of 1978 but pretty nasty.

I have bookmarked American Pickers and hope someone will fill me in on the others. I gather there are many 'antiques' related shows on now.

3. PR, American Picker also has a big facebook community...
...where lots of people from all over the country post pictures of their finds and also comment on stuff from the show. It's fun to read.

This is a link to the site where people post their picks and experts price them:

http://www.antiquearchaeology.com/showandtell.php

And "Mike Wolfe American Picker" is the facebook identity where Mike posts a lot of stuff and people also post their picks on his page and there's a lot of back and forth. He has 34,500 followers, so lots of people are really active.
