Have any of you seen this video of
Obama in New York?

There are actually three videos accessible from this thread but I only watched the first so far because I wanted to talk to you.

I know Pihrana saw the pics -- very dramatic! They're saying 25,000 people -- can you imagine? Someone posted that even HRC's top draw was around 2,500 (in her own state!) but I don't know if that's accurate.

Obama worked the crowd like he was -- don't know how to put it -- comedian doesn't do him justice, but he had a great presence and really connected with the crowd. He said that they had had turnouts of 20,000 in a couple of other areas, 15,000 somewhere else.

Watching the video was exciting. I don't know how/what they do to pull your strings, but mine were being yanked, I can assure you. I found myself feeling excited FOR him. Like I was watching a star. It was a large, big scale production. Lots of money, obviously.

So I found myself thinking -- how does an event like this come about? They had to secure the site, there were elected officials in attendance, he came out with a posse which I assume was security. He thanked the grassroot folks, the students and others for getting it all together.

Do you suppose someone from his main campaign coordinated it all? How did they get the word out to all those people? Who arranged for the spotlights, the music, the PA system? Parking? Transportation? Who took care of all the permits required? Who made sure there were enough trash cans, portable toilets, garbage picker-uppers? Are there professional companies that can be hired to put on an event like this?

And of course the reason I was ruminating on such things is because I was thinking -- how could we do something like this for Joe? I was even going through my mind what music selections would be best.:) Obama's got a young crowd and they had a rap song going. It was hip and cool and energizing, but of course not appropriate for Joe.

At this point I'm enough of a realist to know it wouldn't be on the scale of Obama's, but something as polished and inspirational.

I know Joe excels in small venue meet and greets, but I felt while watching Obama kind of like I used to do at rock concerts. That electricity running through the crowd, the palpable excitement.

At this point, I haven't even found anybody in my area with whom to start a Biden support group so this is probably a pipe dream, but we CAN dream, right?

1. Obama has alot of supporters -
Joe will get there!

That's where Obama excels. He doesn't do good at debates or even on the Senate floor, but put him in front of a crowd and he is at his best. He is a very motivational speaker.
