Mad and want to change the process?
Email Reps. Levin (D-MI) and Nelson (D-FL) show your support for Presidential Primary Reform Bill! Email your own Reps!

House Bill 1523 and the Senate bill, Fair and Representative Presidential Primary System of 2007 would create an interregional system for the selection of delegates to political party Presidential nominating conventions through caucuses or primaries.

The primary or caucus dates would be scheduled between March and June as follows: second Tuesday in March, first Tuesday in April, fourth Tuesday in April, second Tuesday in May, fourth Tuesday in May, second Tuesday in June

On each of the above dates, a state or group of smaller states from each region of the country would go on every day. Every election date would have a fair and representative presence from every region of the country.

One sub-region from each region would hold its caucus or primary on one of six dates between March and June of the Presidential Election year. more...

4. The only thing I don't like about this idea
is that it would be hard for a candidate with little money to compete in more than one state, let alone a minimum of six. What kind of strategy do you think a candidate might undertake in this situation? Would be interesting to see. Maybe I'll focus my grief on thinking about that.

5. Well, if it's combined with the financial reform....
as well as media reform, then people might have to actually go out and get their own info about a candidate. :-) There probably wouldn't be enough money for the candidates to visit each state, but something has to change.
