2. Thanks for this opportunity!
My take on Joe Biden is that he's a genuinely good person, has integrity, and is a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of guy. I'm presenting SOME of the legislation he has Sponsored (list doesn't include all the resolutions he's co-sponsored) to support my opinion. This is in no way complete in ANY of these areas, but they serve to set the tone of the kind of person I believe him to be, and why I feel he is our best choice for President.

(These are from the 109th and 110th Congresses ONLY. His entire record was too daunting to for me to even attempt to condense)

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/WOMENS' RIGHTS/VICTIMS'RIGHTS
- Biden authored the landmark Violence Against Women Act of 1994
- S.1515 : A bill to establish a domestic violence volunteer attorney network to represent domestic violence victims.
- S.AMDT.528 to S.CON.RES.21 To increase funding by $100 million for the Violence Against Women Act
- S.RES.93 : A resolution supporting the goals of "International Women's Day".
- S.RES.24 : A resolution designating January 2007 as "National Stalking Awareness Month

ENVIRONMENT/ENERGY (He's also introduced funding for lithium-ion battery energy research, but I can't find it)
- S.RES.30 : A resolution expressing the sense of the Senate regarding the need for the United States to address global climate change
- S.1562 : A bill to direct the Secretary of Energy to provide grants to States for the distribution of compact fluorescent lights.

MILITARY/VETERANS
- S.1044 : A bill to improve the medical care of members of the Armed Forces and veterans
-S.AMDT.739 to H.R.1591 To appropriate an additional $1,500,000,000 for Procurement, Marine Corps, to accelerate the procurement of an additional 2,500 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles for the Armed Forces.
-S.RES.155 : A resolution designating the week of November 6 through November 12, 2005, as "National Veterans Awareness Week" to emphasize the need to develop educational programs regarding the contributions of veterans to the country

HEALTH
- S.RES.116 : A resolution designating May 2007 as "National Autoimmune Diseases Awareness Month" and supporting efforts to increase awareness of autoimmune diseases and increase funding for autoimmune disease research
- S.RES.256 : A resolution designating June 2007 as "National Aphasia Awareness Month" and supporting efforts to increase awareness
- S.2855 : A bill to amend the Safe Drinking Water Act to eliminate security risks by replacing the use of extremely hazardous gaseous chemicals with inherently safer technologies

EDUCATION
- Biden rates among the highest in education support. Too many to list, but here's one:
- S.1399 : A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to combine the Hope Scholarship Credit and the deduction for qualified tuition and related expenses into a refundable college affordability and creating chances for educational success for students (ACCESS) credit, to establish an Early Federal Pell Grant Commitment Demonstration Program, and to increase the maximum Federal Pell Grant Award.

GLOBAL/HUMAN RIGHTS
- SEVERAL on Darfur: Here are two:
- S.RES.383 : A resolution calling on the President to take immediate steps to help improve the security situation in Darfur, Sudan, with an emphasis on civilian protection
-S.RES.276 : A resolution calling for the urgent deployment of a robust and effective multinational peacekeeping mission with sufficient size, resources, leadership, and mandate to protect civilians in Darfur, Sudan, and for efforts to strengthen the renewal of a just and inclusive peace process._
- S.RES.142 : A resolution observing Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Memorial Day
- S.1709 : A bill to amend the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Act of 1998 to provide additional staff and oversight of funds to carry out the Act (I don't really know what this is, but it sounds like a human rights issue to me!)

DRUGS (Yeah, I know, but these indicate to me a willingness to be fair and also supportive of those who are addicted)
- S.1711 : A bill to target cocaine kingpins and address sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine
- S.1011 : A bill to change the name of the National Institute on Drug Abuse to the National Institute on Diseases of Addiction and to change the name of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to the National Institute on Alcohol Disorders and Health.

IN SUPPORT OF OUR COPS
- S.368 : A bill to amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to enhance the COPS ON THE BEAT grant program

If you'd like to continue to be impressed, here's a link to Biden's Senate site, and that has a link to the Library of Congress where all these and more are recorded.

3. DAMN! I posted it here instead of the proper thread! No wonder there weren't
more posts or recommendations. Sigh. I'll be busy cutting and pasting for a bit.

4. I checked out Edwards and Richardson's. Edwards was all over the place -
debating, saying what they thought his chances were, etc. Richardson's was impressive, informative and on topic. And of course, OURS IS THE BEST!
My heart swells with pride!
