about John Edwards Dropping out...
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 10:05 AM by Froward69
I have sympathy surrounding his wife Elizabeth. I have always felt he should be by her side enjoying her last days with her.

Now that he will be dropping out... or so it seems. I have no sympathy for his supporters. Tough shit is my response.

am I Becoming Bitter? Yes.

1. Yes, and no... but I am looking at it from a deeper
perspective....the one where the media is forcing a candidate down our throats...

2. Would that be the same
if it were Joe Biden being pushed?

it is easy to conclude why some candidates are pushed over others... MONEY and the amounts it takes to place adds on the same networks that gave us those "Tiers"...

sad sad sad.

3. If Joe didn't have the experience to be president....
and ran on a message of hope and change, yes. The thing that repulses me the most about the media, is that they took the least qualified candidate, and pushed him to the front of the line.

I was thinking last night about the Obama stance, that he wants to get away from 'old politics' and the fact that many of his endorsers ARE old school politicians, and I think I have hit on why they did so. They support Obama, because he's 'green' and they can mold him and make him into whatever they want. They couldn't do that with Hillary, or Joe, or Edwards.

That's what I think anyway...

12. That's really good thinking, Corona. He's being co-opted right before
his very own eyes, and you can't tell me he's blind. Sometimes I think I awakened just a half an hour After the Goldrush.

6. I have some sympathy for his supporters
but not much for Edwards. His wife and children need him right now and I really can't understand putting political ambitions before one's family. I realize that we can't always know what goes on in a relationship, but as a woman and a mother, I find it disturbing to see her on the campaign trail following him around.

9. Was it her choice?
Did she choose to follow him? Perhaps she believed in him enough that she wanted him in the White House despite her situation. I don't know, I could see it going either way. Perhaps he now realizes that his candidacy is not viable and she is why he decided to withdraw. Each family has different values and priorities. Without knowing theirs, I find it difficult to pass judgment on him.

11. It probably was her choice
I'm just viewing it subjectively. Not knowing them, I can't pass judgment on them or their decisions. We'll probably never know, but then it isn't any of our business.

13. I did too.
My husband was also disturbed by that. My husband thought that after a couple of the debates when family came up on stage that Edwards acted as though Elizabeth was not even there. It was all about him. But she seemed fine with that, so?

8. I can't believe how NASTY it is out there
What is wrong with these people? It is like going to a funereal and attacking the mourners!

10. I'm pissed off at Edwards. He would have gotten my vote on Super Tuesday.
Any chance for a progressive voice died with his departure.

And now we'll be in Iraq for 20 years.

I'm writing in Joe if he's not still on the primary list.
