I'm going to a "Meet and Greet" with Sen. Biden this afternoon.
I'm looking forward to it, and hearing more from him. I'm still undecided, and hoping this will help me make up my mind.

1. That is great!
I'm a bit envious though. Please come back and tell us how it went. I've heard such positive stories from those who got to see him in person. :hi:

2. In the lst primary, I tried hard to make it to see every one of thee candidates I could...
but was only able to attend the big "rally" type events...so I'm looking forward to this smaller, more intimate gathering.

3. I wish more states were like Iowa during primary season
Meeting candidates in small, informal settings is far more effective than big rallies and 30 second commercials.

4. Well..
I think to the average Iowan, it means a lot when a candidate takes the time to meet with voters in an informal setting. A candidate that is seen as "just a regular guy/gal" will always do well with Iowa voters.

5. From the video clips I've seen out of Iowa
Biden is really good at this. Actually it is how he preceded his first run for the senate at the age of 29 - lots of informal meet and greets in people's homes before he ever announced he was running. All odds were against him, and he won.

I wish I could go, but I'm 2000 miles away so I'll have to experience it vicariously through you!

7. I was just looking at his schedule and thinking if I lived in Iowa I'd be
hitting a few of those places and they'd probably think I was a stalker. I'm envious and impressed that you're making the effort to find out for yourself.

Have fun! Please let us know your reactions.

I hope this will help you in your decision, regardless of your decision.

Again, have fun and thanks for letting us know. We're looking forward to your report!!

:hi:

8. Great, can't wait for your opinion!
I want to know what the crowd was like, what they thought of him, how he presented himself to you, your opinion, everything. We don't get these opportunities like Iowans, and those in NH.

Thanks

intimate gathering with any of the candidates. It must be mind boggling to realize you're meeting with a person who might become the next President of the United States of America. It gives me chills just thinking about it.

Edit to add that I used to take flying lessons out of Boeing Field during the 70's. One day I walked out of the hangar and saw this huge white 747 parked on the other side of the runway with The United States of America on it. It was Nixon's and it was the first 747 Airforce One. I was sick of the war (deja vu), hated Nixon (deja vu) and therefore not in the most patriotic mindset, but seeing that jet humbled me. I was reminded of this when I typed the above post and thought, man, if I can get that emotional about looking at an airplane, I'd probably lose it if I were in the presence of the actual PERSON who might be 44!

13. That Patriotic Feeling, damn I miss it
Imagine having a Democratic President!? I'm paranoid at this point. But to have a Democratic President that I was truly excited about, like Biden, would be perfect. I'm sure all those that have their favorite feel the same. Hell, I'll cheer like crazy for any one of our candidates.

Thanks for story, a bite of reality, I like it!
