or does it seem to you, too, like Matthews had a snootful of Glenfiddich before the show?
Moving on, I was disappointed that he didn't give Joe Watkins a chance to weigh in on Biden.
It's interesting that Matthews is still high on Biden -- he seems to have dropped off the VP buzz radar in the last few days.
When they were showing pics of Joe and Obama, I just can't get past that it should be Joe as POTUS, Obama as VP. It just seems WRONG.
The Republican picks were interesting, too. I was surprised to hear the raves about Romney's business acumen (granted, it was from Joe Watkins) -- wasn't he responsible for buying companies and just decimating the work force? If voters get a whiff of that, when all so many want is a j.o.b. it might not play well.
Pawlenty (sp!) sounded pretty good, actually - and kind of a threat. Only plus is that he looks SO young next to McCain, it would emphasize McCain's age.
That clip they showed of the debates -- that was so moving. I remember Joe beginning to give a response, then he sighed, his shoulders kind of slumped, and it was almost as though he tossed out the "answers" and said "Look, I've spend my career...."
And when Obama 'testified' that showed what kind of a person Obama is -- he didn't have to do that. Then (and I may have been reading into it), Hillary led the applause with a "hear! hear!" and Joe's head snapped around to look, and it seemed to me he was so TOUCHED by the support from his fellow Dems. It was a beautiful moment.
