Just some things I wanna get off my chest....
(courtesy of the Randi Rhodes forum)

Where is Joe Biden???

Yeah, yeah, yeah - we all know where he is, after all, we're obsessed :P !

He was in Iowa, at an event ALL BY HIMSELF, unlike that other VP wannabe who can't go anywhere without her daddy. There was standing room only. Did you hear about that on Hardball? Wolfie??
Nope. Maybe if we're lucky, we'll hear a sentence or two about his amazing zingers.

And Obama never talks about Joe either.
Like today when Obama gave that press conference about Iraq, why wasn't the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee standing at his side? I mean, face it, Obama doesn't have alot of credibility on foreign affairs yet. What would have been wrong if Obama said something like MY VP candidate has contacts on the ground in Afghanistan and this is what they're saying?
My gosh, he has one of the most brilliant minds on foreign affairs right at his side, why doesn't Obama take advantage of him? In Joe Biden, he also has his own little pitbull, sans lipstick, nipping at republican's heals.

I don't get it.
Especially now when all this focus is on *their* vp.

I've just been feeling like all of the sudden, Biden is the odd man out.

Has anybody else noticed this, or is it just me being a die hard Bidenite?

1. I agree!
I work from home, so I often have CNN or MSNBC on in the background (when CSPAN hasn't got something interesting on), and today I watched as CNN gave Biden a 3 minute clip, then Palin about 5 minutes followed by McCain for 3 minutes. Palin is getting all the coverage, what utter bullshit. Then, at the top of the hour with "wolf" we had Obama's press conference. I'm sorry, but it was dry and really easy to tune out. He should have had Biden there, beside him, and said "Here is what I believe and what I said last year...., and Joe will tell us about the realities on the ground ignored by this administration."

You got to hand it to old McCain, Palin was a trump card. Who cares if she lies, the repugs have proved that if you repeat a lie long enough, the masses will believe. Who cares if she has no experience, she's "competent" and can rile up the base, plus don't you know she has "executive" experience!! Plus, she looks good on camera. I mean, really, maybe Biden should put on some lipstick and a wig and show off that nice butt he has, maybe then the MSM would cover him!!! I'm so disgusted, they won't stop talking about her!!!!!!

:puke:

6. I agree about Palin.
She may be a complete and utter loser, but it was a smart move by McCain.
Obama needs to figure out a way to get the msm to stop talking about her.
And maybe he should start by looking at what he has right in front of him.

19. The irony is
Palin keeps saying the same thing over and over again, whereas Joe's stump speeches are varied and original.

8. Good thing for Obama that he has a running mate that doesn't need a babysitter.

3. Politicking
COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Tuesday that only Republican John McCain would think that Missouri is enjoying good economic times.

"I could walk from here to Springfield and I don't think I'd find a single, solitary person on the way who felt the economy was robust, strong and doing great unless I ran into John McCain along the way," Biden said during a town-hall forum at a fitness and recreation center.

Missouri, a swing state in the presidential election, is suffering through its highest unemployment rate in 17 years, 6.4 percent in July. The campaign of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama has been running TV ads in Missouri highlighting a McCain comment that the fundamentals of the economy are strong."

4. Missouri
'Predictably, supporters at Biden's two Missouri events today said things are looking pretty rosy. “It’s the first time I can honestly say I’ve seen people not involved in politics become excited,” says Andrea Boyles, 35, a Ph.D student at Kansas State University who saw Biden speak in Columbia. “This campaign is a breath of fresh air.”'

7. I do too. I just think that Obama should and could
take some of the focus off of her by showing off what a great VP pick he made.
Especially when he takes on this administration on foreign policy.

Ya know - bring the focus back to them.

10. I think they're giving BO the opportunity to show HIS foreign policy
knowledge and credentials. That's where Joey would overshadow him. What they're using Joey for is to talk about how he will interface with the Congress to get things done across the board. Actually, I'm admiring the strategy they're using. It makes utter sense to me. Show Joey's breadth and depth of knowledge on all fronts, while puffing Barack's foreign policy credentials. Did you not see today where Joey's called for a summit on October 1 with foreign leaders to discuss developing a JOINT STRATEGY to deal with the rise of global fundamental extremism? Your move, Governor Palin.

11. No, I didn't see that
or hear one mention of it in CNN, FOX or MSNBC. Not one. There in lies the problem right now.

14. Thank you very much! I'm such a drug-wasted geezer that I can't
remember whatever I did or said one minute ago, and remembering where I saw something is virtually/literally impossible. That is the thread I had read, however. I recognize it. I just hope I recognize my daughters next time I see them. :hide:

15. No - I didn't see that. That is just what I'm talking about.
I've been stuck at home most of the day and have had msnbc on.

Oh - I heard about the pig, the fish, the stem cell response....

but anything of substance? Nada.

Thanks for being better than the news!

17. I think that is from he's speech on how different the world would look now if on Sept 12th
2001 the president took advantage of the whole world supporting us and called a meeting . . .

Remember that speech? Someone in that thread posted that, and that does make sense.
Calling a meeting with world leaders 2 days before the VP debate would be awesome, but I don't think that even Biden could pull that off.
