Have you seen these threads popping up about Obama/Biden lately? The hand-wringers are out in full-force "I'm not feeling it," "He's a centrist," ad nauseum. :puke:

Okay look, yes, there are some appointments that I was surprised about, but I am willing to give our guys a chance. They've got a huge mess to contend with, and NO ONE is going to be able to right all the wrongs of the last 8 years, at least not in a matter of weeks. People are endlessly yammering about Bush getting off the hook -- karma's a bitch as we all know, I think in the end Bush/Cheney will pay somehow/someway for their crimes against humanity. They can't start endless investigations when the economy is in the tank and America is in danger of going under, it is a matter of PRIORITIES. Yeah, let's continue to feed the negative machine and ignore the real problems we have facing us. I just don't get these people. If your family was starving, would you rather motivate everyone and spend energy finding food or sit around the table investigating why there is no food and nailing who is responsible? (maybe a dumb analogy, but it's early and that's the only thing I can think of at the moment)

Now I know why I am very glad to be busy, and spending less time on here. I've just popped in more frequently because the Inauguration is upon us.

but I'm very comfortable with him as president. There is no way he can fix everything and please everyone, but I think he is going to be an exceptional president.

For right now, I'm going to enjoy the moment. After the last eight years, I'm not in the mood to bitch and complain. Of course, if I do get in that mood, there are plenty of idiot republicans still in DC.

I don't even spend as much time on DU as I used to. Too many negative nellys. I think some of them are right-wingers here to stir up trouble. I want to savor the fact that bush is leaving. If Obama is as bad as they are saying, we'll find out soon enough.

He chose Biden so I think he'll do the best he can, but Obama and Biden have a lot of dog do-do to clean up.

I hope all the BushCo. jackasses get their due...but I'm more worried about what we're going through RIGHT NOW.

DU has changed ALOT from when I joined. I'm living in The Lounge more than anywhere nowdays. :(

I consider myself to be a liberal to a moderate on certain issues. I am excited and happy about Obama.

Everyone I know is ecstatic about Obama....and no, nobody agrees with everything he has said and done.
But the common feeling is that Obama is the right man for right now.....except of course, on DU.
There is not a perfect President, because what is perfect for one person is not going to be perfect for another. Seriously, as much as we all love Joe, I think we all could make a list of things about him that we don't agree with. But overall = he is great! And even more so is Obama.

I am so excited about Tues that I feel like a little kid on Christmas Eve.

I didn't kid myself that Obama was a liberal, but as a leftist, I feel the unspoken message is 'sit down & shut up.' After 30 years of bad republican policy, McCain/Palin still got 46% of the vote! How much closer would it have been without the tireless help & support of the left? I'm just saying, my democratic vote is not a guarantee in 2010 like it was the last two elections.

However, unlike some of the folks in GDP, I can read a calendar & I realize that it's ridiculous to judge him now! :rofl:
