1. There's pics of him with Karzai and the pres of Pakistan ( I can't remember his name)

I wonder what it's like for him to meet with them now in his new role after meeting with them before as chair of the SFRC.

2. I bet the foreign leaders are thrilled to have Obama as leader

and Biden, H. Clinton, Mitchell, Holbrooke, etc. to deal with. Familiar, sane American faces.

3. I don't know about Biden - I remember reading in his last meeting with

Karzai, he got up and walked out.

Something tells me he is not playing the tough guy anymore.
Maybe that job has been left to Kerry?

4. I read Obama wants to keep Karzai at arm's length and Joe made that message clear to him in Jan.

"Ten days before Obama's inauguration, Karzai told Vice President-elect Joseph Biden during a private meeting in Kabul that he looked forward to building with Obama the same sort of chummy relationship he had with Bush, which included frequent videoconferences and personal visits.

"Well, it's going to be different," Biden replied, according to a person with direct knowledge of the conversation."
