2. We figure he's about 4.5 - weeks old. We think his mother is feral but couldn't
get near her -- or near the cat we think is his mother -- to see if she would take him.

I've had him for 3 days and he's an angel. As a friend of Jim's said -- I'm sure Nero sent him. :)

3. Cats seem to come into people's lives at the right time
He reminds me of one of the kittens I had in the yard a couple of years ago. Looked like a stuffed animal.

A couple weeks ago a kitten showed up at my back door and walked right up to me when I called her. She was unusually friendly for a stray kitten. At the same time, my daughter knew someone who wanted a kitten. We matched them up and the guy just adores the kitten. Great timing.

5. Nooooooo -- what a cutus!!!!!
Yes, all my cats have found me. And that's as it should be!

I just gave him his first real food -- man, did he scarf it down! Looks like it's back to Top Raman for me, the best money can buy for Mossimo (which I think will be his name since he was in a Mossimo cap when they handed him to me, and he wouldn't come out for hours).

9. A woman and her daughter at Safeway. They were listening to hear if there were
any others around, but all they and I (who had happened along by this time) was the cat we think might be the mother.

12. Well. Since you asked --
First of all I have to brag -- Day One he wouldn't come out of the cap for hours. Finally got him out and fed him some of that "mother's milk" for kittens. Started with the bottle but he was able to lap it up right from the saucer. He was pretty weak, really unsteady on his little legs (haven't measured him, but I did weigh him -- 12 oz!). He actually peed in the little litter box (I just kept putting him in) and he slept with me, and purred! By day two and three, really getting stronger every day and he's playing with toys and with me. Showing a lot of curiosity and courage!

So, had to give him a bath (day two) -- fleas, and living in the dirt by the store. I thought he looked pathetic before! (By the way, that's a little butter saucer -- 3.7" in diameter)

Drying him off, he kept climbing up my neck and poking his head through my hair.

The majority of pics are on my camera, but I don't have the program downloaded on my computer, so you'll get a respite -- except for this (from my brother's Flickr page)

:hi:

14. Oh, I'm going into Sugar-shock here!
That cute little face poking out of your hair is priceless!

So did you brother take to the kitten alright? I can't see how anyone could resist him.

15. Yeah, my brother and I grew up with cats. This is the first time since he's
been married (about 27 years) that they've been without a cat. Maggie, the huge Golden Retriever, is so sweet and gentle, and wants to make the cat her new friend, but Mossimo is still too scared. He actually SPAT at Maggie today!

When I brought him into Mud Bay (the very health-conscious pet store) it was like that commercial for the mini-burgers where those girls go squealing overjlllllllll]]]]]]]]kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk n (guess who just walked across the keyboard) -- to the guy saying "they're adorable! they're so cute!" I swear everyone in the store came rushing over, big, sappy smiles on their faces going "oh, oh, oh, he's precious!".

I really think this is the best thing that could have happened to me -- to us both, maybe! Initially I was kind of afraid, still hurting over Nero, but he's been a healing little bundle of love, so I'm glad he's here!

18. Oh that's good
It helps if everyone is accepting.

Yes, I think the little guy came into your life when you needed him and he needed you.

16. I'm thinking Mossimo because that what was on the cap he "came" in. What
do you think? I know it's an Italian name meaning the greatest, but I think most people think of Target. Hmmmmm..
