Like Pat said, Dexter is an HBO show about the life of a charming serial killer who has a code. The code: he only kills people that deserve it. Dexter works as a blood spatter expert in the police department, so he knows of lots of people who should be behind bars but get off for various reasons, so he has quite a field of possible victims to select from. I think it's an outstanding show & because of Michael C. Hall, I've gone back & am now renting all the Six Feet Under series, which I also like, but not quite as much as Dexter.
Each season, Dexter has a main antagonist that challenges him in some way. The new season, which I won't see until it comes out on DVD, has John Lithgow as another serial killer. I love Lithgow & I wouldn't be surprised if this is the best season yet! I think most shows really start to lose it after the second season, but Dexter hasn't done that.
Anyway, my idea is more of a theme for an entire season. Much as I enjoy writing, I don't have the time or inclination to devote to writing several episodes. I'd rather just call someone & tell them my idea & see if they like it. I think it's got a very interesting twist to it & would make a great season. I'm not looking to make money or anything, although a trip to Hollywood & a day or two on the Dexter set would be fun! ;)
Tell Jim thanks for the info! And again, thanks to you, too, for thinking of me!
BTW, I'm sort of a serial killer junkie. Did any of you ever watch The Profiler with the Jack of All Trades? I loved that show! And one of my favorite movies is Mr. Brooks. I don't care for Kevin Costner much, but he's really good in that movie! William Hurt is really good in it too. My sister thinks I'm a bit of a sicko for my serial killer fixation, but demented as they are, they are also very fascinating.
And also, did anyone check out White Collar last night? If the rest of the season is as good as the premier, you know what channel I'll be on, on Friday nights!
on edit: It is on Showtime, not HBO.
