1. Ha, ha
Actually I've been working outside the last few days and when I take breaks (needed a lot of those, as I'm really out of shape), I work on my farms.

JBSG has been very quiet the last week, but I still check in regularly.

2. Me, too, but all I usually find are tumbleweeds rolling by. Not much Joe stuff,
although he did make an announcement about the Iraqi force eliminating a couple of bad ass Al Q's.

Jim (my friend) said today, "I'm getting tired of all the Joe jokes, they're just not funny." (I think maybe Jon Stewart may have made a crack because he was relaying another part of The Daily Show when he said it.) He said, "he just misspeaks, says something like I went to the department store, I mean the grocery store... and people start going oh Joe's put his foot in his mouth again." It's so funny -- like we hadn't noticed it and been bitching about it for years! I told him he should have seen DU when Joe was still in the running and how many times we heard "gaffe machine". :eyes:

Anyhoo, good to see ya! :hi:

4. I think the general public
is with your friend Jim. The jokes just aren't funny and as such, comedians are starting to avoid them.

5. Jim's become a Joe lover. I made him. They (public/R's/media) have just taken
it too far. And I honestly can't think of a single real gaffe that Joe has committed. He's said some things that sounded politically incorrect and probably could have been worded better (for the masses) but I know his intent is pure and we all know he's just honest. Imagine that.

I have to confess that years ago I heard someone mention Biden and he was on the news and I asked Jim who he was. He said he was some politician that kept plagiarizing people and kept getting caught. That was the meme, and that's how I viewed him all these years before I got to "know" him during the debates. Actually, when I heard he was one of those who would be in the primaries I thought "man, is that guy still around?" and pretty much automatically dismissed him - WITHOUT HEARING A WORD HE SAID! Then he won me over, debate by debate, and my unrequited love was born. :). There aren't very many people who I admire as much as I admire Joe. That's what was so frustrating here, people wouldn't even listen to him. Oh well. He showed them! :7

9. I have an advantage
in that I really wasn't familiar with Joe before I became a huge fan. I saw him on Meet The Press and he was so refreshingly forthright. My son came in one Sunday and sat down. Normally such shows bored him, but he didn't complain. He looked at me and said, "Why isn't HE running for president?" That was 2004. We've all been huge admirers of Joe ever since. I'm glad I didn't know the negative crap before. I saw him minus all the baggage and he was the politician I was hoping for at the time. The political-speak during the 2004 campaign was really bringing me down.

I didn't know at the time that leaders in the Democratic party were trying to get Joe to run that year and that Joe helped Kerry with his foreign policy speeches. I often wonder how different things would have been if Joe had run.

3. Actually, not the farm, but
four days at Dharma Gardens. Back now. So, who do you like for SCOTUS? I'm looking at Martha Minnow and thinking she's right on.

8. Dharma Gardens, well okay.
And I don't know aobut SCOTUS -- I haven't even really looked at anyone, don't know what names are being proffered. I'll look into it, with a special eye toward Ms. Minnow.

I think he should consider Jonathan Turley because even though I don't agree with all his views, he's a true constitutionalist if that's what we want. But I've always felt that JUSTICE and the word of the law aren't necessarily one and the same. Sigh. I did catch a young (to me) man being grilled by a committee, and I liked him, too. Of course, I have no idea what his name is.
