Well Andrea Mitchell said it today....
that there are rumors floating around of Joe and Hillary switching. She said if Obama's numbers are still low in 2012, that having Hillary on the ticket would help him gain her supporters. And that being SoS was the job that Joe really wanted....funny, I don't remember that at all....I remember hearing that Joe had an option and chose vp.

It's like the rumor that won't go away

2. I do seem to recall that Joe had his eye on SOS, but was then presented with
the choice and chose VP. I've always wondered if, at that point, he suggested Hillary might fill the SOS slot? Pure conjecture on my part, but I know he's always thought highly of her.

I thought this whole thing started when a blogger suggested it because that's what he would have liked to see happen -- this guy didn't like Joe. Purely his dream ticket, but it was picked up as though there was buzz in DC along those lines.

When I just saw on MSNBC that they were kind of going with this, I was surprised. But after reading the threads here, it seems as though it's come from Woodward's book.

I had to laugh -- Contessa said "Biden is scheduled to have lunch with Obama today!" - as though this was going to be the topic of discussion. Doesn't Joe have lunch w/O EVERY week?

I hope it's not so because it's essentially saying "Joe, we're not sure we can win with you on the ticket in 2012" :(

That being said, I think both Hillary and Joe and doing an outstanding job in their current slots, but they could both do just as good a job if they swapped.

But giving it some thought, I think it's better as it is now because Joe may be able to reach some disenchanted Repubs with his no bullshit attitude, whereas the Hillary Hate has been ingrained in the Republicans for so many years, and don't know if they would support that ticket w/Hillary as VP. Not sure if that would be the target audience, though.

Of course they're going to deny it, but if we watch Joe when he's asked, I bet we'll be able to get a better sense if it's actually being discussed.

Hillary seemed especially strong in her denial, almost exasperated that there was even any attention being paid to this when there were so many more important issues that needed attention. Just had a different feel than the usual (BS) politician "I'm happy where I am and I'm focused on doing the very best job I can for...." :7

4. It is coming from Woodward's book. I think that if Hillary was to help
it would've been in 2008 when the dems were so divided on which one should be President.

I think that Obama really relies on Joe for so many things, I just don't see this happening. But like I said in the op, it's the rumor that won't go away.

3. The media is just creating yet another story
instead of reporting on what is really happening. Pathetic as usual.

5. Media? What media?
Maybe when Rachel or Lawrence report on it, I'll believe it. I feel like those two are the only ones reporting anything anymore. And Keith of course.

7. This is what I think I am observing
Chris Matthews just had on Andrea Mitchell, and Arianna Huffington. Andrea really seems to like Hillary, she traveled with her recently overseas.
Andrea seems to be the one talking about this more than anyone else. I think Andrea wants this to happen.

Matthews - to my surprise - said that Biden is doing a great job as VP and on the campaign trail, and that if Hillary really wants to run as Potus in 2016 that being VP is not the way to go. She can't run and say what she would do differently from this administration if she is VP of this administration. And VPs never win Potus when they run with the exception of daddy bush.

Arianna also said that the country is more with Biden than Hillary when it comes to Afghanistan - that Hillary is too far to the right. Poor Andrea, she pouted when that was said...

Soo shut up, Andrea!
