Chavez: Lech Walesa unwelcome in Venezuela
Chavez: Lech Walesa unwelcome in Venezuela
Tue Feb 10, 9:02 pm ETCARACAS, Venezuela – President Hugo Chavez said Tuesday that Lech Walesa will be barred from entering Venezuela if the Nobel Peace Prize laureate attempts to come to lend his support to opposition groups.

Anti-Chavez university students invited Walesa to a pro-democracy conference last year, but the former Polish leader did not attend.

The Warsaw-based Lech Walesa Institute said at the time that Walesa decided to skip the event after Poland's foreign ministry informed him that Venezuela could not guarantee his security.

Chavez instructed authorities on Tuesday to ensure that Walesa does not enter Venezuela, which is preparing for a Feb. 15 referendum on a proposal to lift term limits for all elected officials.

Chavez made the comment after an interviewer suggested that Walesa had received a new invitation.

1. Mr. Walesa is against LGBT and abortion rights
Those who constantly harp at Venezuela's ties with Iran, are also supporters of Israel's apartheid policies and ongoing Occupation of Arab lands.

2. what is Ahmadinejad's position on LGBT and abortion rights?
Your post then is completely absurd.

also, noting a friendly relationship between Hugo and Ahmadinejad is completely unrelated to the Israeli/Palestine issue

6. and more

8. A primary problem, in assessing any such reports, is that the reporting
often tends to lift single words or half-sentences from context, in order to further particular purposes. Because both Chavez and his opponents seem frequently "to shoot from the hip" in political discourse, understanding the real significance, of what is reported, requires a careful effort to determine what was actually said and what political forces affect subsequent comments and reporting

Since Walesa has not been above hurling barbs at Chavez in the past, Chavez seems merely to be returning the favor by saying Walesa has feet of clay

Lech Walesa calls Venezuela's Chavez a demagogue
