1. The Supreme Court opposing Zelaya's attempts to end term limits,
I can understand. The arrest and deportation and now assassination of the only leftist candidate left is not acceptable.

9. They are reporting the death of a leader, resisting arrest
(My translation)

* The circumstance surrounding the death of Cesar Ham have not been clarified.

* There are indications he confronted the squad that arrived to arrest him.

Tegucigalpa, July 28 .- The popular leader Cesar Ham, congressman of the Democratic Unification Party of Honduras, died today at the moment he was to be arrested at his house, as confirmed by police sources.

Among reports on the coup d'etat against the president of Honduras, Manuel Zavala, detained this morning by the military at his residence in Tegucigalpa and transported to Costa Rica, police confirmed the death of the popular Honduran leader.

Despite the fact that the circumstances of Ham have not been been established, the official version is that he resisted arrest and confronted the military squad that arrived at his residence to arrest him with a gun in his hand, for which reason it was necessary to liquidate him.

Cesar Ham, 50 years old, was a popular and faithful follower of President Zelaya and one of his organizers on the citizens council that was to take place this Sunday and that apparently served as pretext for the coup d'etat.

Only semi-significance between your translation and how I read it was that I took "ser" as "being" instead of "to be." i think the difference could be meaningful, in that if he died the moment he was "to be" arrested, the two things seem unconnected - he died at the moment they were to get him. Whereas my interpretation is he died while being arrested. Spanish is my second language, I'm not correcting, just asking.

5. Popular leader is killed resisting arrest in Honduras.
* The circumstances of his death are unclear
* The indication is that he died in an altercation with forces that arrived at his home to arrest him.

That's the takeaway. The coup plotters went in and killed the leftist politician most likely to succeed Zelaya.

19. How fortunate for the right-wing oligarchs who planned the coup there will be no
well know, and highly popular leftist living to run. Who benefits, I wonder?

Only idiots who attempt to lie others into believing this was exactly as reported in the right-wing oligarchy controlled media.

Sensible people know better by instinct, and common sense.

Stupid people always assume the people they are trying to flim-flam are as stupid as they are. They CAN'T create situations which are difficult to see through.

They're just too dirty to do things the right way. Best wishes to the people of the Americas as they slowly pry these criminals out of the positions of power they covet and will kill to control.
