I guess they did have to get Telesur and VTV out of there because they would show that the opposition has not been quelled. Zelaya better do whatever he's going to do. With a lockdown on the media, the Pinochettis can create their own reality.

Honduras lifts overnight curfew

The interim government in Honduras has lifted the overnight curfew that has been in place since the ousting of President Manuel Zelaya two weeks ago.

The government said it had "reached its objective" of quelling opposition protests, in a statement read out on television and radio.

Roberto Micheletti's interim government imposed the curfew on 28 June.

Talks in Costa Rica aimed at ending the political crisis in Honduras ended without agreement on Friday.

"The government was able not only to reduce crime in the whole country, but also to restore calm to the people of Honduras," the government was quoted as saying in its public broadcast on Sunday by Reuters news agency.

Mr Zelaya was ousted and forced out of Honduras at gunpoint on 28 June.

His attempt to fly back to Honduras failed the following weekend when the authorities blocked the runway at Tegucigalpa airport. At least one supporter of Mr Zelaya was killed in clashes.

The political crisis erupted after Mr Zelaya attempted to hold a non-binding public consultation to ask people whether they supported moves to change the constitution.

Opponents said that could have led to the removal of the current one-term limit on serving as president and so paved the way for Mr Zelaya's possible re-election.

1. Oh, that'll fix things. Tell the media to spread the word the curfew's over, then make sure
no one's left in Honduras who will dare to mention it if they end up slaughtering countless people who leave their houses after dark.

They only said the curfew's over. They didn't say they promise to to murder everyone they see on the streets other than their own families, and fellow Nazis.

Sooner or later these monsters are going to overplay their hand.

2. I'm sure the US told Honduras to make it look calmer real quick
and then the media will take over and make Zelaya look like an invader of his own country.

6. The media is jumping right in there to get the job done, too. Overnight I actually saw a headline
claiming the "Caretaker government ends curfew."

Does that make you sick, or what?

"Caretaker government." How sweet. How kind of these monsters to watch over Hondurans' government this way.

3. VTN team at airport to leave but Telesur staying.

That was reported a few minutes ago on Telesur. Venezuela embassy official escorted VTN team to the airport and said it was about to board plane to leave. He said Telesur was staying.

Chavez said if anything happened to Ven. journalists, the Goriletti would be held responsible.

4. Social opposition leader assassinated in San Pedro Sula

Did not catch his name, Telesur report said band of hooded armed men had barged into his home at around 8.p.m. on Saturday night and shot him to death.

There should be a fuller report later on resistance blogs.

5. Generally, they are shameless liars. But in this case they are telling the truth...
"The government said it had 'reached its objective' of quelling opposition protests, in a statement read out on television and radio."

In other words, their "objective" was repression of the peaceful expression of opinion by hundreds of thousands of Zelaya supporters!

They have "reached their objective": People are sacred shitless. They know that the military will open fire on them if they dare to gather and march and protest. They know that people are being 'disappeared.' They know that hundreds are in jail--probably many being tortured and mistreated--for opposing this coup. The hideous coup has openly revealed its anti-democratic nature in this statement. He didn't say to "quell violence." He didn't say to prevent pro's and anti-'s coming to blows. He said to "quell the OPPOSITION."
