Llorens takes a trip

Golpistas have been in a dither over Zelaya and Llorens getting together in Managua last month

Went over to check out the golpista media (El Heraldo) and newspaper is reporting that U.S. Amb. Llorens has left the country.

U.S. Embassy said Llorens is on a "personal trip, and was not recalled. The embassy did not say when, or if, he will return.

Heraldo report says unofficial sources said Llorens was called to Washington for consultations.

Lloren's meeting with Zelaya last month in Managua raised the hackles of the golpistas and comments below Heraldo's story are mostly anti-Llorens. Llorens has been accused of "intromission" in the affairs of the golpista regime.

There are two more intriguing items in the story. Heraldo says the Llorens/Zelaya meeting had generated ill-feeling among some in the Obama government, and that the embassy press, commercial, political and economic attaches had left Honduras as a result.

Do not know if the report about the attaches is true, seeing as how the info is coming from the golpista newspaper.

1. Whoa Nelly, this is getting good
and I always wondered whose side Llorens was on... he's not an idiota from what I can tell. That photo alone if recent makes him a target for golpista stray bullets, how much you bet that he doesn't find his way back to Tegu?

Then again he could be giving him the Vulcan death grip.

Here's hoping that Hillary is on the right side, I assume that Obama is on the right side and some space will be made for the resistance in the future, if not Zelaya ..

The part about the press leaving is the most intriguing.

6. Llorens is a rightwing Cuban Pedro Panista
This looks more like he is working on a face-saving deal that would have Zelaya return to office, but effectively neutralized.

7. If Obama were on the right side, he would have
met with Zelaya.

2. They just didn't expect this result, did they?
As Flamingdem said, life might get a little "iffy" for Llorens if he stayed, since he has managed to make everyone angry.

Really funny seeing another one of these guys potentially "in the wind," or "on the run," totally unwanted, disliked by his assigned country.

To commemorate the situation, here's Groucho Marx: "Hello, I Must Be Going"

5. Golpistas said it didn't matter if their diplomatic visas were canceled,
they still had their civilian visas.
