Maybe I read it too fast, but I formed an image of a cartoon character--say Wile E. Coyote--sliding around on an oil slick, on a tennis court, trying to return volleys from the Road Runner, while the Road Runner sped around the court on jet-engine propelled golf cart. Wile E. Coyote being the ambassador. The Road Runner being the leftist reporters with whom he had, unwisely, agreed to meet on the court.
Llorens is a slick character, for sure. But I don't think he expected such knowledgeable reporters, even from the left. He has to start making little jokes to explain the VERY SLIPPERY U.S. policy on Honduras, when they start trying to nail him down. For instance, the poor guy is not on vacation on Majorca, like all the EU ambassadors who were pulled out in protest of the coup, but got "stuck in the mud in Honduras" cuz that way we can run the coup...er, talk to the coupsters.
Slip, whoosh, bang!
