Bolivia's lower house approves indigenous justice law
The Bolivian lower house of Congress has approved a law giving indigenous communities the right to administer their own justice systems.

The government says the measure, which now goes to the Senate, will allow indigenous groups to settle disputes according to their own cultural values.

But opposition parties have warned that it could lead to mob rule.

Last month four policemen were lynched by an Andean clan in the name of indigenous justice.

1. Interesting information. It's good to see the indigenous Bolivian people meeting this new level
in national law, especially considering the fact that as recently as 1952 they were not allowed to walk on the sidewalks in the cities, nor were they allowed to vote.

The reason those two items changed in 1952 was that these two conditions were altered as byproducts of a revolution.

Looking forward to the time they can FINALLY say not one of those enormous ranches is practising any form of slavery, nor abusing the people who still live and work on that property as did their ancestors going back hundreds of years, maybe longer.

There was no question back then who owned their own land. Now it appears the Europeans imagine the indigenous Bolivians are there to do all the work for them, for NO compensation, around the clock, every day until they drop in their tracks of illness or old age.

The next step is the removal exploitation of these citizens. The contempt, hatred, racism will undoubtedly remain, as the grabby, greedy, brutal geniuses who stole the country need someone they can pretend is lower, and less worthy than they.

Thanks to the changes we are seeing, the law is going to eventually protect the poor, and powerless, as well as the assholes.
