Lawmakers report distribution of tons of expired milk in Venezuel
At least 68 tons of expired milk have been allegedly sold by Venezuelan government institutions, according to opposition lawmakers Neidy Rosal and Aura Montero (Project Venezuela, PV, state of Carabobo), who produced evidence concerning this irregularity at the Attorney General Office.

Rosal said that waybills and some invoices dated July 2010 are included among the documents submitted to the Attorney General Office.

The legislator added that they met with Nelson Mejías, an anti-corruption prosecutor, who received the documents.

Rosal recalled that when the regional lawmakers reported the discovery of these expired food products, they recommended incineration and warned the Attorney General Office and the Ministry of Health that the products were unfit for human consumption.

Later, the lawmakers found that 68 tons of milk with an expiration date of November 2009were being repackaged.
